The ProLiant DL590/64 represents the official entry into the world of high-performance 64-bit computing. Although the 64-bit ProLiant Platform will initially be optimized for specific 64-bit applications, demand for the system will increase as more applications are ported to 64-bit architecture. This innovative new product will enable ProLiant to further drive into the enterprise and compete in more traditional mid-range environments.

That model incorporates the new 4-way Intel Itanium - based processors and larger standard ECC SDRAM memory configurations (up to 64 GB), to deliver the maximum performance and availability required for Itanium-based applications in 4-processor compute environments.
