How Printing Happens on the DDP MicroPress

What is the actual printing process if the DDP MicroPress System is addressed as printer? The printing process happens in 3 major steps:
  1. Input: "Printing" a file puts the data into the MicroPress spooler. It is taken out of this spool space and is passed over to the RIP (Raster Image Processor)
  2. Processing: The RIP converts the PostScript source file input into a binary imaging file and passes it over to the Print Station Manager
  3. Output: This output image is compressed and then sent by the PSM to the physical printing device in a bit image format
